Experiences
This page provides details on my experiences listed on my resume, as well as other events I've been a part of during my career.
BU Women's Lacrosse on NESN
Boston University gave me the entire women's lacrosse season on ESPN, but one of the games was picked up by NESN, or New England Sports Network, and was broadcast on linear television. I was extremely grateful to have my debut on NESN as I have watched the network my entire life.
98.5 The Sports Hub Internship
In the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to intern with 98.5 The Sports Hub, the flagship radio station for the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins. I worked on the night show with Joe Murray, learning how to produce a radio talk show. Joe also brought me on air on multiple occasions, which is clipped below. I was also sent to the Patriots training camp as media with 98.5, taking photos for the website and observing the Zolak and Bertrand show.
Here is a link to a segment of Murrstakes, where Joe Murray listens to his mistakes throughout the night. This segment I had edited and clipped together for the show:
Women in Sports Day at Elon
On February 4th, Elon celebrated National Women in Sports Day at the women's basketball game. For the first time in Elon Sports Vision's history, there was an entirely female crew, including myself as play-by-play. When I came to Elon, I was the only woman on air for two years, and now there are enough women to have an entire crew.
I was interviewed by a representative of Elon about the day, which can be read here: https://www.elon.edu/u/news/2024/02/05/elon-sports-vision-celebrates-national-girls-women-in-sports-day-with-all-female-crew/
Additionally, on Thursday, February 29th, CBS Sports covered the Elon Men's Basketball game versus William and Mary. During that broadcast, they highlighted the work my team and I did on women in sports day. The clip is attached below.
CAA Championship Tournament
When the Elon women's basketball team made it to the CAA Championship Tournament, I went to Washington D.C. to call their games. The tournament was at the Entertainment and Sports Arena where the Washington Mystics play. I traveled with the team and called their games on radio for WSOE 89.3.
Christopher Edwards II Award for Sports Journalist of the Year
On April 18th, I was awarded the Christopher Edwards II Award for Sports Journalist of the Year at Elon, an award created for one student per year who excels in the sports world. It was named after an Elon student who graduated in 2018, and then tragically passed away the following year. His father created this award to turn something tragic into something extremely special for Elon students.
