Biography
My name is Katie Bennert, and I am a sports broadcaster who graduated from Elon University in May 2024.

I am the first woman to call Elon Football, Elon Men's Basketball, the first female Sports Director at WSOE, as well as the first woman to run a women's basketball broadcast as play-by-play.

I am currently living in Boston, where I have worked for Harvard, BU, MIT, UMass Amherst, and Springfield College. I have called men's and women's hockey, women's basketball, men's soccer, men's and women's volleyball, women's lacrosse, men's and women's water polo, and swimming and diving in play-by-play, analyst, and sideline roles.

I began calling games during my freshman year during the COVID-19 pandemic, starting on the radio with WSOE 89.3, the student-run radio station on campus. In my junior year, I became the Sports Director for WSOE, running sports on the radio station where I got my start. Additionally, I called Elon football on LEARFIELD for my junior and senior years.

In my freshman year, I also started with Elon Sports Vision, or ESV, which is the television organization that runs all sports broadcasts on TV. My first broadcast was women's lacrosse as a color analyst, as I played both lacrosse and soccer my entire life. I have called men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, and men's and women's soccer on ESV since.
